Xiaomi recently entered the second stage of the MIUI 12 rollout. The company is still taking things pretty slowly, beginning the rollout round by sending out the global beta update to the Redmi Note 8 Pro. Next on the list, however, is the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 8.
According to a report by AdimorahBlog citing Xiaomi Firmware Updater, the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 8 are now receiving a MIUI 12 beta update. At the moment, the update is only seeding to Chinese models of the phones. It's important to note that this isn't a public rollout, and is only available to owners who registered for the beta testing program.
The two phones are getting the OTA with the build number "MIUI 12.20.7.3". This isn't the first MIUI 12 update the Redmi Note 8 is receiving; as it actually received an update with the build number "MIUI 12.20.6.18" about two weeks ago. That build had a major bug, though, so the update was pulled. Logic dictates that this new update arrives without the aforementioned bug.
