MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 7 Pro in India now in beta testing phase
Xiaomi has offered up some news in regard to the state of the MIUI 12 update specifically for the Redmi Note 7 Pro in India. According to a dev in the Chinese OEM’s community forum, the software overlay is currently being tested by Mi Pilots and that general users of the smartphone should be patient for now. If beta testing of MIUI 12 for the Redmi Note 7 Pro has already started, then owners can expect to receive an update within the next few weeks, as long as no crippling bugs are found.
The Redmi Note 7 Pro was launched in 2019 and featured Android 9 and MIUI 11. While the smartphone has already received an update to Android 10, it still features the MIUI 11 skin. The Redmi Note 7 Pro was originally included in the “Round 2” list of devices expected to receive MIUI 12, although it seems the overall rollout has taken Xiaomi longer than what was initially predicted.
The Redmi Note 7 series as a whole has been extraordinarily successful for Xiaomi, with over 20 million units shipped around the world. The India variant of the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes in three memory/storage configurations (4 GB/64 GB, 6 GB/64 GB, 6 GB/128 GB) and runs with the help of a Snapdragon 675 processor. It looks like fans in India might only have a month or two to wait before they also have a stable MIUI 12 update installed on their Redmi Note 7 Pro device.
