A short message spotted on the Chinese social media site Weibo has brought some good news to owners of certain Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones in regard to receiving the MIUI 12 stable update. According to the post, devices that were part of the second batch of Xiaomi’s planned roadmap for the MIUI 12 rollout can expect to receive the Android-based overlay by the end of July. The list of smartphones in the second batch is as follows:
- Xiaomi Mi Mix 3
- Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S
- Xiaomi Mi CC9, Mi CC9 Pro, Mi CC9 Meitu Edition
- Xiaomi Mi 9 SE
- Xiaomi Mi 8, Mi 8 UD, Mi 8 Explorer Edition

This means owners of those Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones in China should be receiving the MIUI 12 stable update over the next few days. This is also good news for users of both the Indian and global variants of these smartphones, as it should only be a couple of weeks before the software rollout makes it way outside of China.
MIUI 12 brings a host of new features, with system-level animations, layered icons, and Super Wallpaper being some of the most warmly received additions. Enhanced dark mode, floating windows, and a new notification shade have also been included with the MIUI 12 stable update, giving Xiaomi and Redmi smartphone owners the opportunity to fully utilize their device of choice.
