Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S and Mi Mix 3 users in China have been reporting receiving a stable update for MIUI 12 on their smartphones. This indicates that the global, European, and Indian releases of the MIUI 12 stable update ROM for these two Mi Mix smartphones should take place over the coming weeks.

There have been reports of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S and Mi Mix 3 devices receiving the MIUI 12 stable update in China. Apparently, the initial plans involved rolling out the Xiaomi skin to these smartphones by the end of July; however, it seems the complicated rollout has suffered from some delays, which have sometimes been caused by bugs.

Now that the MIUI 12 stable update is being pushed out for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 and Mi Mix 2S in China, owners of global, Indian, or European variants of the two Mi Mix smartphones can start expecting to see an update notification appear on their devices within the next few weeks, as Xiaomi pushes forward with the second batch rollout.

Mi Mix 2S owners in other regions can test out the Chinese version of the MIUI 12 ROM by clicking on the link in the “Sources” section, but it’s important to remember that Google Services is not included and there is a risk of bricking the smartphone. The software version for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is V12.0.1.0.QDGCNXM and the code for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is V12.0.1.0.QEECNXM (both China variants).
