The Mi 8 Pro may be one of the next devices to receive MIUI 12. Until now, Xiaomi has mainly focussed on bringing recent handsets onto its latest OS, including the Mi 10 and Redmi K30 Pro to name but a few. No, a company director at Xiaomi has informed fans of the imminent arrival of MIUI 12 for the Mi 8 Pro. Writing on Weibo, Zhang Guoquan stated that the update is expected to arrive this week.
Xiaomi released the Mi 8 Pro on MIUI 10, so MIUI 12 would be the second OS upgrade for the device. However, it has been upgraded from Android 8.1 Oreo through to Android 10, so it will probably never receive Android 11 officially. Nonetheless, we would expect Xiaomi to bring at least MIUI 13 to the device.

It is bad news for the Poco X2, though. Xiaomi began upgrading Indian handsets to MIUI 12 last week after months of waiting. However, V12.0.1.0.QGHINXM will only reach a few devices as Xiaomi has already pulled the update. According to announcements on Telegram channels like PocoX2Official, V12.0.1.0.QGHINXM has "been pulled back due to some bugs and glitches". Apparently, a new stable build will be issued "in a few days", although Xiaomi would not give a specific date.
Similarly, bugs are holding back the release of MIUI 12 on the Pocophone F1. While we reported only a few days ago that Xiaomi had postponed upgrading the device again, it has emerged that August may be too ambitious of a release window for Xiaomi. The company hopes that have the bugs addressed "by August" and to have released a stable build to the Pocophone F1 within 2-3 weeks after pilot testing ends. Based on those dates, it would seem that the Pocophone F1 may not receive a stable version of MIUI 12 until September at the earliest.
