Next Tuesday will be a big day for Xiaomi. Not only is it the day on which the company will unveil the Mi 10 Ultra, but it is also the day when it will announce a new version of the Redmi K30. To date, Xiaomi has launched five devices in the Redmi K30 series. Most recently, it unveiled the Redmi K30i 5G, which arrived two weeks after the launch of the Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition. Now, Xiaomi has confirmed that it will launch the Redmi K30 Ultra on August 11 too.
The Redmi K30 Ultra is also known as the Redmi K30 Extreme Commemorative Edition, which is a mouthful. Irrespective of its name, the device is thought to be the first in the Redmi K30 series to be paired with a MediaTek SoC. According to the TENAA, the Redmi K30 Ultra will be powered by the Dimensity 1000+ and a choice between 6 GB, 8 GB and 12 GB of RAM. Up to 512 GB of storage will be on board too, as will a 4,500 mAh battery that is capable of 33 W fast charging.
These components will be joined by a plethora of cameras and a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The Redmi K30 Ultra will launch running Android 10, but it could well be one of the first Xiaomi smartphones to receive Android 11 when that arrives later this year.
The Redmi K30 Ultra is thought to resemble the Redmi K30 Pro. This will mean that the former will have a pop-up front-facing camera and an almost bezel-less display. Additionally, the Redmi K30 Ultra will have a 64 MP primary rear-facing camera.
