Xiaomi has begun issuing MIUI 12 to Mi Pilot testers who own the Pocophone F1. The commencement of pilot testing comes after multiple delays, which Xiaomi blamed on some seemingly stubborn bugs. The release of the inaugural MIUI 12 update would suggest that these bugs had been addressed, though.
The update is called V12.0.0.3.QEJMIXM and is rolling out in batches to Mi Pilot testers. Xiaomi stresses that the update will only be pushed to devices that have been accepted onto the Mi Pilot program, so do not expect V12.0.0.3.QEJMIXM to land on your handset if it has not been enrolled on the program. Additionally, Xiaomi states that it is rolling V12.0.0.3.QEJMIXM out to Mi Pilot testers in batches.
However, a stable update could arrive "within a few days" for the global version of the Pocophone F1. According to Xiaomi, the release of MIUI 12 to the global branch hinges on the feedback from Mi Pilot testers. If everything goes well, then Xiaomi will push a stable update to the Pocophone F1 globally. Xiaomi Firmware Updater has provided the recovery ROM and OTA file should you wish to try V12.0.0.3.QEJMIXM on your Pocophone F1. We cannot guarantee that the update will be compatible with devices that have not been enrolled on the Mi Pilot program, though.
