The Mi Mix 3 5G is finally receiving a new update after months out in the cold. The new OTA brings the update with build designation "MIUI V10.3.26.0.PEMEUVF", which denotes that it's for the Vodafone EU models. This update is the July security patch and is a 496 MB download.

The Mi Mix 3 5G is widely regarded as the forgotten child of Xiaomi's lineup. Launched in early February as Xiaomi's first 5G smartphone, the device has been neglected by the company and remains on MIUI 10 and Android Pie. Hope has now arrived for some owners of the Mix 3 5G, however, as a new update is currently seeding to the phone.

The new update for the Mi Mix 3 5G bears the build number  "MIUI V10.3.26.0.PEMEUVF". As expected, it's a MIUI 10 update, which is shambolic considering most Xiaomi phones have received MIUI 12. It's an update for the European Vodafone model of the device. The Vodafone and non-carrier models are said to be identical anyway, so a similar build will likely arrive for the "PEMEUXM" models shortly.

Xiaomi promised that the Mi Mix 3 5G would receive a security patch in July, and that's exactly what this new update is. Following this, the phone should receive MIUI 12 around October, although only a build based on Android Pie and not Android 10; it's unlikely that the phone ever gets Android 10.
