Global stable Android 10 upgrade extended for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7
It has been almost two weeks since Xiaomi began issuing a Global Beta Stable release of MIUI 11 based on Android 10 to the Redmi Note 7. The update is called V11.0.1.0.QFGMIXM, which denotes that it is intended for devices enrolled on the global branch of MIUI. As we mentioned earlier this month, Beta Stable updates represent Xiaomi's last stage before it begins issuing them widely. Typically, these are rolled out to select handsets to determine whether there are any bugs that had been missed at earlier stages of testing.
Now, it seems that V11.0.1.0.QFGMIXM is being given a broader release. The update brings the Redmi Note 7 onto the July 2020 set of Android security patches and includes the following changelog:
Mi Share
- New: Recently connected devices will be pinned on top of the list for a short time
System
- Optimization: Updated Android Security patch to July 2020. Increased system security.
- Stable MIUI based on Android 10
The update will arrive as an over-the-air (OTA) upgrade if your device has not received it already. If you would like to install the update manually, then you can do so from one of the links below. These are hosted on Xiaomi's servers, for reference. Please note that the tgz file must be installed using utilities like Xiaomi Flash Tool. Alternatively, you could install the zip file via recovery. The sizes of the tgz and zip files are 2.6 GB and 2.0 GB, respectively.
