The Redmi Note 7 series is yet to receive an OS upgrade having been launched over a year ago. Stuck on Android 9.0 Pie will Xiaomi races onto the tenth edition of its Redmi Note series, it looks increasingly unlikely that either the Redmi Note 7 or Redmi Note 7 Pro will receive Android 10 this month either.
Having missed the expected release window of late April or early May, Xiaomi has now pushed new Android 9.0 Pie updates to both updates. V11.0.6.0PFGMIXM and V11.0.8.0.PFGEUXM have gone live in the last few days for the Global and European versions of the Redmi Note 7 respectively, while Xiaomi has just released V11.0.9.0.PFHINXM for the Indian version of the Redmi Note 7 Pro.
All three updates include new security patches and minor bug fixes. These could be the last MIUI 11 updates for both devices too, with the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro set to receive MIUI 12 from next month. While that might mean that Xiaomi will bestow Android 10 on the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro next month, that would be nine months after Google released Android 10. Hence, we doubt that Xiaomi will be bringing Android 11 to either device before 2021.
