Xiaomi users worldwide will be pleased to know that Xiaomi has finally announced the global roadmap for MIUI 12. The massively-popular Android fork's 12th iteration was unveiled in China last month and was expected to make its way to globally soon. There is a closed beta and a pilot testing program underway too.
The official MIUI Twitter handle revealed that MIUI 12 will be made available to users in waves starting in June 2020. Only a handful of devices will receive it first, followed by a much wider rollout. Redmi K20 and Mi 9 series phones will be the first in line to receive the update. Here's the complete list of devices that will follow suit after the initial wave.

The list has a mix of old and new devices from Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco. Xiaomi also adds that other devices will catch up 'soon,' so if you don't see your phone on the list, you still might be eligible for the upgrade at a later this point. Unfortunately, Xiaomi didn't mention exactly when the above devices would receive the update. Let's hope that it doesn't take too long and the rollout wraps up before the year ends.
Xiaomi is notorious for merely bumping up the MIUI version, and not the corresponding Android build number. It is likely that at least a few of the phones listed above will not get Android 10-based MIUI 12, and will have to settle for an Android Pie variant instead.
An MIUI 12 open beta is expected to arrive sometime next week, so it's best to keep your eyes peeled if it piques your interest. MIUI 12 brings forth a lot of interesting features, and it is understandable of one wants to try it out early. However, beta software is inherently unstable and not suited for daily drivers.
