Android 10 for the Redmi Note 7 may ultimately come with MIUI 12, ETA unknown
The Redmi Note 7 series was released over a year ago. Since then, the phones are yet to receive an OS update, although Xiaomi rolled out MIUI 11 to the phone—albeit an Android Pie-based build. The Redmi Note 7 is the younger sibling of the duo, and things don't look to be set to change anytime soon.
Going by a moderator's post on the official MIUI forums, it's unknown when the Redmi Note 7 will receive the Android 10 update. The update is under development, which is about expected, but there's currently no ETA. The update could come as part of the MIUI 12 update, however.

This is in conflict with information from another mod a few weeks ago that claimed the Redmi Note 7 would get the Android 10 update this month. We're not sure what to believe, and even though MIUI forum mods have a decent track record, it may be best to ignore what they say on this matter for now.
