Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 specs and images revealed - Lu Weibing's "super performance, unexpected" cheap 5G smartphone with MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC
The Redmi Note 10 could be an absolute winner of a smartphone depending on how Xiaomi intends on pricing it. Specifications and images of the device have been shared online, and the budget 5G Redmi smartphone appears to have a lot going for it, including an OLED screen and a brand new Dimensity 800-series chip from MediaTek. It’s not surprising Lu Weibing could only manage “super performance, unexpected…” when he was presumably talking about the phone on Weibo.
Although tipster Xiaomishka states a MediaTek Dimensity 800-series SoC for the Redmi Note 10, there is also mention of the clock rate: 2.6 GHz. This figure points at the soon to be launched Dimensity 820 processor being inside the affordable 5G smartphone. Joining the potentially market-shaking chip is the 6.57-inch OLED display with 1080x2400 resolution, a 4,520-mAh battery that can be repowered with a 22.5 W fast charger, a 16 MP selfie camera and a rear-facing triple-camera setup with a 48 MP primary sensor.
Apparently, there will be 6 GB + 64 GB, 6 GB + 128 GB, 8 GB + 128 GB, and 8 GB + 256 GB variants of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10, and it will come with the MIUI 12 interface incorporating Android 10. The likely to be cheap 5G smartphone weighs 208 g and measures 164.15 x 75.75 x 8.99 mm. It’s an exciting package – but the prices have not yet been revealed. If Xiaomi resists the temptation to implement its recent high pricing strategy over this new Redmi Note 10 series, and the expected performance is there, then this smartphone could end up being an extremely popular entry into the world of 5G smartphones for many users.
