Xperia 10 II pricing officially revealed as camera samples surface; an iPhone SE alternative for Android lovers?
A few weeks, we revealed the pricing of Sony's new Xperia 10 II in the UK after the device was spotted on Clove's website. Sony has now confirmed those leaked prices.
The Xperia 10 II will retail for £319 in the UK, and for €369 around Europe. The phone is now available for pre-order in Europe, although we don't expect it to start shipping until next month, like its more premium Xperia 1 II sibling.
Camera samples from the Xperia 10 II have also surfaced. Samples from the Xperia 1 II were revealed a few days, so this isn't surprising. The samples themselves are hardly impressive, though. While the Xperia 10 II has the ideal camera setup—wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle, and telephoto—the actual quality of the shots won't win any awards. The shots mostly look overexposed with blown-up highlights, and the night mode shots don't offer much more than the auto-mode pictures.
We expect the Xperia 10 II to be priced at US$400 when and if does make its way over to the US. That positions it against the Pixel 4a and the new iPhone SE. It has the most-full fledged camera setup of the trio, but likely lags behind the others in pure photo-taking ability.
It offers an OLED display like the Pixel 4a, and waterproofing like the iPhone SE. As a bonus, it's also about £100 and €100 cheaper than the iPhone SE in European markets. What's not to like?
