We just reported about the MIUI 12 software rollout for Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco smartphones and now Xiaomishka has provided a secondary update that offers a slightly more precise timeline than the one offered by Xiaomi. The original official post from the Chinese OEM stated updating would start in June, with Redmi Note 8 devices receiving MIUI 12 in “round 2”.
There are millions of Redmi Note 8 smartphone owners out there, with Xiaomi executive Lu Weibing recently offering up various reasons why over 30 million Redmi Note 8, Note 8 Pro, and Note 8T devices have been snapped up by an adoring public. However, many users have been anxious in regard to software updates; it now seems the Redmi Note 8 Pro will be updated to MIUI 12 in July while the Redmi Note 8 and 8T should receive the software in August.
Numerous other devices are listed in the second wave mentioned in Xiaomishka’s post (see image below) along with the Redmi Note 8 Pro. Smartphones that should receive MIUI 12 at round about the same time include the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, the Xiaomi Mi 10, the POCO F1, and both the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 9.
