Pixys has made a custom ROM based on Android 10 available for the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8T. Owners of these smartphones have endured a rollercoaster ride in regard to the eagerly awaited operating system update, with the official software from Google now being delayed by Xiaomi because of major bugs.

Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8T smartphone owners have had little to cheer about when it comes to getting an official update to Android 10. While certain flagship smartphones are beginning to gear up to receive beta versions of Android 11, in contrast the poor old Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8T are starting to look forgotten at the moment.

Fortunately, there is some relief on the horizon thanks to a custom ROM based on Android 10 that has been provided by Pixys. Pixys OS will work on both the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8T. Users who decide to update their smartphones with this particular firmware should ensure that they save all their data beforehand. The link for the custom ROM can be found in the sources below along with installation instructions.

The official Android 10 update for the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8T should be arriving within the next few weeks, possibly by early August. Work on the software rollout had to be halted when major bugs were discovered during the first stages of release. It might be worth waiting for the official update from Xiaomi, but at least Pixys has an alternative option for those curious to see what all the fuss is about.
