It appears Redmi Note 8T owners are going to find themselves in the same boat as those with the very similar Redmi Note 8 smartphone in regard to a MIUI 12 update. While it seemed the Android 10-based overlay was winging its way to the Redmi Note 8T (Global, Europe, Russia) this month, Xiaomi has now warned that a delay is possible.

There are already plenty of heated passions out there belonging to owners of the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8T smartphones, with many expressing dismay at Xiaomi’s roll-out of Android 10 and MIUI 12 for those particular devices. While Redmi Note 8 users have already been advised to settle in for an even longer wait, there was no specific mention of the Redmi Note 8T…until now.

A message posted on the Mi Community forum, spotted by PiunikaWeb, starts with a positive note for Redmi Note 8T owners but then ends in a more negative manner: “The update is planned to release this month. But there is a small possibility that the update might get delayed.” Optimistic types might focus on the first part and insist that the Redmi Note 8T might still land MIUI 12 in the next 10 days or so. Pessimistic – and realistic – types will more likely exasperatedly accept that latter part.

With the chance that Redmi Note 8T MIUI 12 for Global, Europe, and Russian models could be delayed, the obvious question is now how long for. While November wouldn’t be too much of a delay, bugs and glitches could easily extend that wait, even up to 2021. It’s already been a long road for the Redmi Note 8T, and it seems the MIUI 12 journey just got longer.
