Xiaomi Mi Band 5 gets certified while price and release date rumors surface; cheaper Mi Band 4C to be launched soon
Some interesting news about Xiaomi’s forthcoming fitness trackers has been offered up by tipster Xiaomishka. First up is the eagerly anticipated Xiaomi Mi Band 5, which is expected to be a smash hit product in terms of sales for the Chinese OEM. The wearable has been spotted in Taiwan National Communications Commission certification with the model number XMSH10HM.
This points to an imminent release for the Xiaomi Mi Band 5, which we have reported about in a previous article. However, Xiaomishka believes the fitness tracker could be released in June, and it might be priced at 179 yuan (US$25) or 199 yuan (US$28) in China. Obviously, global prices for the Mi Band 5 would be higher than those for its domestic market. It’s rumored the Xiaomi wearable will feature a PAI (Personal Activity Intelligence) app that will monitor the user’s health-related data.
If you cannot wait to get your hands on the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 then you might be able to seek out the Xiaomi Mi Band 4C instead, which is also known as the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 4C and is basically a rebranded Redmi Band. We already reported about the Mi Band 4C, which according to the same source is launching soon and should cost less than the Mi Band 4. The Mi Band 4C has a rectangular 1.08-inch display and a 140-mAh battery.
