We have just reported about a stable MIUI 12 update being released for the Redmi Note 9 smartphone in China, where the device is actually better known as the Redmi 10X 4G. While users in China have started getting to grips with the novel features of MIUI 12, owners of the Redmi Note 9 in other parts of the globe will have to wait a bit longer.
It’s just been revealed that a new MIUI 11 European stable update (V11.0.5.0.ZJOEUXM) for the Redmi Note 9 has started being pushed out. This particular update is mostly focused on security, and it will deliver a security patch dated for June 2020 to Redmi Note 9 owners. Users can either wait to receive the firmware update via OTA or download it directly (see “sources” below for link).
The Redmi Note 9 was included in phase 2 of Xiaomi’s planned global rollout of MIUI 12, although another leak of the company’s supposed roadmap features the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max as part of a fourth batch of devices that will eventually be receiving MIUI 12. While phase 2 was expected to continue throughout July, a MIUI 11 security update rolled out now certainly seems to signify that the MIUI 12 update process for Redmi Note 9 devices in Europe has been paused.
