A few days ago, Xiaomi finally entered the second round of its MIUI 12 rollout. In the second round, the company's mid-range and budget phones are to start receiving the update, and it would seem that the company is kicking things off with the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
According to AdimorahBlog, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is now receiving its first taste of MIUI 12. This isn't a wide rollout, though, and the update is only available for those who opted into the MIUI 12 pilot program. The update carries the designation "MIUI 12.0.0.4 QGGMIXM", denoting that it's a global update, not just for the Chinese market. Anyone who registered in the program should be getting the update right about now.
This update brings all the regular MIUI 12 features and weighs in at 632 MB. This is essentially the first MIUI 12 update in the second round, and we expect a beta stable build to start rolling out by next week or thereabouts. Meanwhile, owners of the Poco F1 and Redmi Note 7 will likely start getting a similar update since the phones, alongside the Redmi Note 8 Pro, spearhead the pilot program.
