After a long wait, the Android 10-based LineageOS 17.1 ROM is available for the Xiaomi Mi A1. The firmware is still a nightly status, unfortunately. Other handsets that got Android 10 support thanks to LineageOS 17.1 in the last few days include the OnePlus 5/5T and later models, LG V20, Honor View 10, HTC One 2014, and others.

Although LineageOS 17.1 nightlies started to show up a few months ago, many popular devices still had no such ROMs available less than two weeks ago. Fortunately, more LineageOS 17.1 builds have become available for download in the last week and one of the most popular handsets to get Android 10 via this channel is the Xiaomi Mi A1.

Right now, the latest LineageOS 17.1 download available for Xiaomi's popular Qualcomm Snapdragon 625-powered handset is one day old and is one nightly ROM image — just like most of the other Android 10-based LineageOS 17.1 builds currently available. So far, it seems like there's a problem with Open GApps nano 10.0 — more details can be found on this page. 

Considering the above, you should be careful when moving away from the official stock firmware for the Xiaomi Mi A1, which will remain on Android 9 Pie. If you happen to be running LineageOS 17.1 — or other third-party, Android 10-based ROM — on it without problems, feel free to let us know in the comments section.

Fortunately, it looks like LineageOS is back in full force with Android 10-based ROMs for many other handsets. The list of devices that can run LineageOS 17.1 is quite long and includes popular pieces of hardware such as Essential PH-1, Google Nexus 6, Google Pixel and Pixel XL, HTC One 2014, LG V20, OnePlus 2 and later models, Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016), Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia 10, and many others.
