Over the past few weeks, Xiaomi has sent out stable Android 10 updates to a number of its phones. The Redmi 7A, Redmi 7, and Redmi Note 7 all received the Android 10 update in China, with the Redmi 7A's update finally arriving globally. The next device on the list is the Redmi 8.
Yes, the Redmi 8 is now receiving the stable Android 10 update. As is usual with Xiaomi, the update starts out in Xiaomi's home China, and will likely take a few weeks before it arrives globally. The update carries the build number "MIUI 11.0.1.0 QCNCNXM". That denotes that the update is a Chinese build. It's also based on MIUI 11, as Xiaomi hasn't started rolling out MIUI 12 to its budget phones.
The Android 10 update for the Redmi 8 weighs in at 2.0 GB, and doubles up as the June security patch. As aforementioned, the global update could take anywhere between a week and a month to start rolling out.
