Meizu 17 Pro beats out the OnePlus 8 Pro as it muscles in on the Snapdragon 865-dominated June AnTuTu flagship smartphone chart
AnTuTu has published its flagship smartphone performance chart for June, and while there is only a little bit of movement at the top, there is a slightly surprising new entry near the bottom. The Meizu 17 Pro has managed to amass an average benchmark score of 587,527 points, which is enough to place it in ninth position and over the OnePlus 8 Pro. The Meizu 17 Pro offers smartphone users similar key specs to the OnePlus 8 Pro but at a lower price, so this result is a positive for the Zhuhai-based firm.
Both the Meizu 17 Pro and OnePlus 8 Pro are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoCs, and indeed every device in the current top 10 of the AnTuTu flagship smartphone chart has this same processor. With rumors flying about in regard to a potential Snapdragon 865 Plus chip and the seemingly costly Snapdragon 875, it seems likely that Qualcomm will maintain its stranglehold on the chart for some time to come.
The OPPO Find X2 Pro still leads the chart and has improved its average score over the month; however, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro has taken second place away from the OPPO Find X2, although the difference in points between the two flagships is very small. In fact, only 23,453 points separates the OPPO Find X2 Pro at the top and the OnePlus 8 Pro at the bottom. It may be time for a new SoC to come along and shake things up a bit.
