OnePlus Nord: OIS confirmed for flagship-level camera as OnePlus teases retail packaging, July 21 release date and the "world's first AR smartphone launch"
OnePlus has teased yet more aspects of its upcoming smartphone, the Nord. Taking to its @oneplus.nord Instagram account again, OnePlus has published photos of the retail box of the Nord, along with the caption:
We know we've only got one chance to make a first impression, so we've designed OnePlus Nord's packaging to stand out with a sleek, sturdy new design with OnePlus at its core. Oh, and the phone won't let you down either.
Additionally, other photos have surfaced of a OnePlus Nord launch invite card, which purport that the device's release date will be July 21. We have been unable to verify the authenticity of these two photos as they are not present on the @oneplus.nord Instagram page, although the date correlates with a rumour on which we reported last week.
The invite card also states that OnePlus will host the "world's first" augmented reality smartphone launch. The URL nord.oneplus.com/NordAR is active, albeit it returns a "The page is coming soon" notice at the time of writing. According to @techdroider, OnePlus is planning to offer chances to win a "OnePlus Q1 TV, Nord Phone, BWZ [Bullets Wireless Z] and Gift Cards".
Separately, OnePlus has confirmed that the Nord will support OIS. The company has already stated that the Nord will support 5G connectivity and a "flagship-level camera", along with a Snapdragon 765G chipset. The OnePlus Nord will retail for under US$500 too and will be available to pre-order again on July 8 and July 15.
