The Asus Zenfone 7 is on the way, and more information has now surfaced lending credence to rumors that it will come with a more expensive, feature-packed Zenfone 7 Pro model.
About a week ago, word on the grapevine claimed Asus would release a Zenfone 7 and a Zenfone 7 Pro. A new report by DealnTech has revealed the presence of a Zenfone 7 Pro in benchmark code. Supposedly, the benchmark shows traces of the Zenfone 7 Pro, as there appear to be two sets of core clusters, with the first being clocked at 2.84 GHz and the other at 3.1 GHz. The other details are identical.
That may sound familiar to some, as the Snapdragon 865 features a Prime Core clocked at 2.84 GHz, while the newer Snapdragon 865 Plus sees that same core boosted up to 3.1 GHz. All evidence points towards the existence of two phones—one with a Snapdragon 865, and the other with a Snapdragon 865 Plus.
It's not improbable that the Zenfone 7 Pro is the device in question with the new Snapdragon 865 Plus. After all, Asus' other phone, the ROG Phone 3, will be the first phone to launch with that chipset.
