Asus has been relatively tight-lipped about the upcoming ZenFone 7 series. Even the rumor mill had little information about Asus' next affordable flagship. We now know that the phone will come in two flavors and will be released on August 26. Seasoned leaker Roland Quandt has now given us a rough idea about the ZenFone 7 Pro's cost.
The Asus ZenFone 7 Pro's prices start at €499 (US$595) for the base variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Bumping that up to 8GB and 256GB will set you back by €549 (US$714). The prices are more or less on par with that of the ZenFone 6. It has a lot more competition this time around from companies like Redmi, Realme, Poco, and iQOO. However, the ZenFone 7 Pro's unique design and global availability should give it an edge over similarly-specced counterparts.
It'll be interesting to see how Asus prices the ZenFone 7 Pro's younger sibling, the ZenFone 7. Unlike the ZenFone 7 Pro's Snapdragon 865+, the ZenFone 7 will come with a Snapdragon 865, and we can expect Asus to knock off a few dollars for that. As is the case with every leak, we should take this one with a grain of salt. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865's astronomically high price makes it tricky for OEMs to offer their devices at affordable prices, so it shouldn't be surprising if both ZenFones are priced a bit higher than anticipated.
