New official Asus Zenfone 7 teaser indicates a return of the swiveling camera module from the Zenfone 6
Asus has officially confirmed that it will launch the Zenfone 7 series on August 26 in Taiwan. The company is expected to release two devices: the Zenfone 7 and Zenfone 7 Pro at that event, and has now teased the device, with one notable takeaway likely to gladden the hearts of Zenfone 6 fans.
In the short video shared by the official Asus handle on Twitter, the Zenfone 7 can be seen without any obstructions at the top of the phone. Yes, no notch, no bezel, and definitely no hole punch. That confirms that the Zenfone 7 will almost definitely sport a swiveling camera module as we saw on the Zenfone 6.
In fact, at the very start of the short video, when light passes over the phone, two equidistant lines can be seen at the top of the device, which all but proves the existence of the rotating camera module.
Going by the earlier launch date teaser, it's likely that one of the Zenfone 7 phones will sport four cameras, as the image shows four lens-shaped circles. We expect a main camera, a telephoto shooter, an ultra-wide-angle shooter, and either a macro, depth sensor, or ToF sensor.
