Apple has just unleashed the first ever Ultra version of its Apple Watch. It comes with the largest case known to its line to date, packed with what the Cupertino giant backs as features to boost endurance and performance in the new wearable. The Ultra comes in just one 49mm GPS and cellular-enabled SKU, and costs as much as some brand-new iPhones.

Redmi's latest variation on the G Pro (also known as the RedmiBook Pro) gaming laptop line has been revealed as a 16-inch PC with RTX 3060 graphics for its high refresh rate display. It also features the Ryzen 7 6800H processor and an HDMI 2.1 port, all available to pre-order for just under US$1,100 in China from today (September 7, 2022).

Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi 11 Prime and Redmi 11 Prime 5G, two affordable smartphones powered by different processors. Both come with 90 Hz and 1080p displays though, among other similarities.

Xiaomi has presented the Redmi A1, a budget smartphone running Android 12, not MIUI 13. Equipped with a 720p display, the Redmi A1 resembles flagship Xiaomi smartphones from the back, although its INR 6,499 (~US$81) reinforces its budget credentials.

The Mate 50 E has the same Harmony OS 3 UI and basic design of the rest of its new premium smartphone series. It also has the same main rear camera and display as the vanilla 50, although the E variant has a premium mid-range Qualcomm SoC rather than a flagship-grade processor.

The Mate 50 RS has premiered as the highest-end of its new smartphone series. Its appearance has been altered in partnership with the Porsche Design Studio, although it has the same display as the 50 Pro. Despite its 4G/LTE-only nature, its single SKU has debuted at a price staggeringly close to US$2,000.

The latest MateBook E variant from Huawei is a Go today (September 6, 2022). The convertible has a 12.35-inch display with 120Hz SKUs and a 2.5K display compatible with the OEM's latest stylus. It runs Windows 11 using the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 processor and, as such, starts much cheaper than its flagship sibling in China.

Samsung has announced pricing and availability for the Galaxy A23 5G in the UK and the US. Equipped with a 120 Hz display, the Galaxy A23 5G also has a Snapdragon 695 chipset, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of expandable storage.

Realme has unveiled the Watch 3 Pro in India, where it starts at INR 4,499 (~US$56) during its pre-sale period. Eventually rising to INR 4,999 (~US$63), the Watch 3 Pro features a 1.78-inch AMOLED display, over 110 sports modes and a SpO2 sensor, among other things.

Huawei has now launched the Mate 50 series in China, two years after the debut of the Mate 40 lineup. The Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro are both powered by a 4G-only variant of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and feature premium hardware across the board.

The USB Promoter Group has unveiled specifications for USB4 Version 2.0, the next-gen standard for type-C ports that might increase data-transfer speeds by 2x, even through some existing cables. It is also rated as compatible with its PCIe and DisplayPort counterparts, and may improve performance for some USB 3.2 devices.

Xiaomi has announced the POCO M5, a smartphone that borrows from its predecessor's design. Equipped with a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, the POCO M5 also has LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 2.2 storage and a 90 Hz display, among other features.

Xiaomi has lifted the lid on the POCO M5s, an affordable smartphone that starts at €209 in the Eurozone. Available in three colours and three storage options, the POCO M5s also has a MediaTek Helio G95 chipset and an AMOLED display running at 60 Hz.

The Tour ONE M2s are JBL's latest headphones, and as such feature large drivers enhanced with the brand's "PRO" and "Spatial" Sound features. They have an up-to-date wireless standard and are rated for lengthy battery life, although it is at its best when their new, "true" adaptive noise cancellation (ANC) is turned off.

JBL touts its latest Tour-series wireless earbuds as the world's first to come with their own touchscreen. The case-mounted LED panel is capable of displaying music controls as well as those for the PRO 2's advanced active noise-cancelling (ANC) functions. An OPPO representative has confirmed that the original packaging for some of its smartphones will no longer contain power bricks, starting in 2023. Instead, consumers who need the SuperVOOC accessories the new devices might need for their full charging speeds may have to buy them from the OEM. The announcement may thus overshadow the European launch of the Reno8 series somewhat.

Garmin has unveiled a new edition of the vívofit jr. 3, a smartwatch intended for children. Available in multiple markets, the Black Panther-themed model joins the corresponding Iron Man edition and comes in two subtly different versions. Like the rest of the vívofit jr. 3 series, the Black Panther edition costs US$89.99.

Honor has brought the 5G variant of the Honor X8 to Europe, having unveiled it July. Equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery, the Honor X8 5G also has a fast display, a Snapdragon 480 Plus chipset, 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, among other features. The Honor X8 5G is available from €269, just €20 more than the Honor X8 4G.

Bose has partnered with Qualcomm to secure the new S5 Audio series of chipsets for its next-gen product portfolio. The SoCs will power future soundbars and speakers from the well-known brand as well as its headphones and earbuds. Honor has brought the MagicBook 14 2022 to Europe, albeit without its AMD Ryzen 6000 APU options. Instead, Honor will only sell the MagicBook 14 2022 with an Intel Core i5-12500H, plus an optional NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 complemented by 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD.

Qualcomm and Meta have teamed up at IFA 2022 to unveil plans for custom chipsets to power the next generation of the latter's Quest hardware. They will be co-developed by the 2 companies, although they will be based on Snapdragon XR platforms. The collaboration is touted to deliver further advancements in augmented or virtual reality (AR/VR) experiences over the next few years.

Huawei is bringing the MatePad Pro 11 tablet to the European market at IFA 2022. The MatePad Pro 11 features an 11-inch 120 Hz OLED panel and comes with features that aid multitasking such as Huawei M-Pencil and the ability to multitask between four apps at once. The tablet also features a 13+8 MP dual-camera setup and is the first tablet to come with Huawei Notes app pre-installed.

Huawei displayed its latest MateBook X Pro 2022 ultrabook at IFA 2022 today. The MateBook X Pro comes equipped with a 14.2-inch 3.1K screen and is powered by the Intel Core i7-1260P processor. Huawei also includes its Free Touch navigation system with additional gesture support, and a Super Device function that seamless connects to other Huawei devices in the vicinity.

The Jabra Elite 5 has arrived during IFA 2022. Featuring 6 mm drivers and Hybrid ANC, the Elite 5 launches in two colours and is already orderable now in multiple markets. Jabra is running a short-term promotion on the Elite 5 too, reducing the earbuds by US$20.

Garmin has unveiled the Venu Sq 2 and Venu Sq 2 Music at IFA 2022, both with significant upgrades compared to their predecessors. Sporting larger OLED displays and better battery life than the Venu Sq series, the Venu Sq 2 series also offer numerous health tracking features but at an increased starting price.

HMD Global has introduced the Nokia T21 as part of its IFA 2022 showcase. Equipped with an 8,200 mAh battery and a 10.4-inch display, the Nokia T21 runs Android 12 and should receive three years of software coverage with two OS updates. HMD Global has priced the tablet attractively, starting with a 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage configuration.

Samsung has now made the Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro official as the latest addition to its "extreme" (and extremely business-like) line of slates. It has launched with an upgrade to sub-6GHz 5G connectivity and Wi-Fi 6E, and even supports "private 4G/LTE" bands on top of that. Its 10-inch display runs off a battery that is user-replaceable and supports fast-charging via a POGO-pin interface.

Samsung has unveiled the Odyssey OLED G8, a high-end curved gaming monitor that will be available later this year. Equipped with a 34-inch OLED panel, the Odyssey OLED G8 has a QHD resolution, an 1800R curvature and a 175 Hz refresh rate, among other features. AMD FreeSync Premium support is also onboard to ensure smooth gameplay on current-generation graphics cards or PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X consoles.

HMD Global is taking its strategy of releasing affordable, midrange/low-end smartphones that promise good battery life and build quality a bit further with the launch of the Nokia X30 5G and Nokia G60 5G phones. Both phones pack Snapdragon 695 SoCs, bigger power packs than their predecessors, and 3 years of OS updates.

XMG has announced new, mid-2022 versions of its Focus gaming laptops based on a combination of the Intel Core i7-12700H and 6GB of RTX 3060 graphics rather than the i7-11800H and RTX 3050 Ti of the 2021 versions. Their 15- and 17-inch M22 counterparts are also joined by a 16-inch model with a 165Hz refresh rate and a series-first 16:10 aspect-ratio. Their orders will go live soon with a limited-time-only introductory offer.

Amazfit has introduced the GTR 4, a round smartwatch with a 1.43-inch display. Equipped with Amazfit's latest BioTracker 4.0 PPG optical sensor, the GTR 4 also features over 150 sports modes, dual-band GPS, and is available in the Eurozone for €199.99.

Amazfit has announced the GTS 4, a larger alternative to the GTR 4 and a more expensive option to the GTS 4 Mini. Equipped with a 1.75-inch AMOLED display, the GTS 4 relies on Zepp OS 2.0 and has Amazfit's BioTracker 4.0 PPG optical sensor, among other features.

Amazfit has started offering the GTS 4 Mini in Europe, a smartwatch that the company promises will provide 'ultra-long battery life'. Equipped with a 1.65-inch display, the Amazfit GTS 4 Mini comes in four colours and is cheaper option than the GTR 4 and GTS 4, which Amazfit has also announced today.

Sony has officially launched the Xperia 5 IV, with the compact smartphone brimming with fan-favorite features. The device has space for a 3.5 mm audio jack, microSD slot, and it also comes with an LED notification light. The 6.1-inch Sony Xperia 5 IV is priced at US$999/£949/€1049, with availability depending on region.

Lenovo touts its latest Chromebox for Enterprise as the mini-workstation for nearly every conceivable 2022 use-case with up-to-date specs, support for business-grade cloud management and streamlined, even remote, installation options crammed into a chassis of just about 1 liter (l) in volume. It also features security and support features from both Google and Lenovo.

The ThinkVision S25e-30 is Lenovo's latest 24.5-inch FHD monitor. It has a starting price in line with its HDMI 1.4 spec; nevertheless, it has launched with the same new, red-accented design of its higher-end siblings that integrates its own joystick for easier physical control. It also benefits from potentially realistic color reproduction and a faster-than-average refresh rate.

Lenovo has officially announced the IdeaPad 5i Chromebook at IFA 2022. Its key specs include an Intel Core i3-1215U processor, up to 8 GB RAM, 512 GB storage and Wi-Fi 6E. The Chromebook will hit shelves sometime in early 2023.

Lenovo has upgraded the Tab P11 Pro with a new MediaTek Kompanio 1300T SoC, Android 12L, an 8,000 mAh battery, and more. The tablet will be available for purchase in September starting at EUR 499 (US$499).

The Lenovo Tab P11 has been upgraded with a new MediaTek Helio G99 SoC and an 11.5-inch 2K IPS LCD panel clocked at 120 Hz. Other specs include 6 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, and a 7,700 mAh battery. It will hit shelves in early 2023 for EUR 349 (US$349).

Lenovo has announced the Legion Y32p-30, described by the company as a 'powerful display for immersive gaming'. Equipped with a 31.5-inch IPS panel that is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified, the Legion Y32p-30 offers 10-bit colour depth, a 4K resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate and a USB hub, among other features.

Lenovo has brought the second generation ThinkPad X1 Fold to IFA 2022 in Berlin. Not only has Lenovo improved upon the device's design, but it has also equipped new ThinkPad X1 Fold with considerably more powerful processors, as well as LPDDR5 RAM and PCIe Gen 4 storage. Lenovo has lined up a release date for later this year and has already confirmed the device's starting price.

At IFA 2022, Lenovo is unveiling a product that has surfaced already a few months ago: The Lenovo ThinkBook 16p G3 is supposed to take the multimedia segment by storm with the combination of AMD Ryzen-H and a Nvidia GeForce RTX GPU.

The Asus ExpertBook B5 Flip has been announced with a 16-inch WUXGA OLED touchscreen, Alder Lake-P (vPro, vPro Essential and non-vPro variants included) processors, up to 40 GB of RAM and a 50 Wh battery. Information about its price and availability will be revealed soon.

At IFA, Asus is introducing a few new laptops. One of those is the ExpertBook B5 B5602C. The target market for this 16 inch device are business customers. To convince them, Asus is betting on the low weight, the numpad, expandable RAM and an optionally large battery.
