Dreame unveils X40 Pro Ultra powerful robot vacuum and mop with unusual feature
The Dreame X40 Pro Ultra robot vacuum and mop is now on sale in China. The model follows the recent announcement of the X40 Master and the X40 Ultra Complete for EU markets. Two versions are available: one is a standalone version with water tanks in the docking station, while the other can be plumbed into your home.
The main difference between the X40 Pro Ultra and the other X40 robot vacuums is the retractable LiDAR turret. When the device detects a low piece of furniture, the turret sinks into the body, meaning the highest point on the vacuum is just 88 mm (~3.5 inches) off the ground. While the LiDAR is retracted, VSLAM technology is used for navigation and obstacle avoidance, with cameras on the robot's side.
The X40 Pro Ultra is also more powerful than other X40 models, with 13,000 Pa rather than 12,000 Pa suction power. Plus, it is said to be able to mop with 75°C (~167°F) hot water. As with the other devices, the robot vacuum features dual mops, a central roller brush and a side brush for 100% coverage of your room. These can all be lifted or the mops detached at the dock to avoid dirtying the floor while cleaning. The docking station can also automatically empty and refill the onboard dustbin and water tanks as needed, as well as wash and dry the mops.
You can now pre-order the water tank and plumbing-connected versions of the Dreame X40 Pro Ultra in China for 6,299 yuan (~$870) and 6,999 yuan (~$965), respectively. Whether the model will launch in other markets like Europe remains to be seen. The recently announced Dreame X40 Ultra Complete is currently available in EU countries like Germany for €1,499.00.
