Mechrevo launches two new gaming laptops with high-end specs and water-cooling capability

Water-cooled gaming laptops aren’t new. Take the XMG Neo 15, for example. With XMG OASIS, which is the external water cooling setup with a radiator and fans, the laptop can make the Ryzen 9 6900HX and Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti deliver stable performance even during heavy loads. But if you’re looking for something with a little more modern specs, you might want to check out the new Mechrevo laptops.

The company has launched two new models in China: Kuangshi 16 Super and Yanshi 16 Super. Both laptops pack the latest Intel Core i9-14900HX, a high-end Raptor Lake processor with 24 cores. As for the GPU, Mechrevo offers two options for both models: Nvidia RTX 4080 and RTX 4090.

To keep these power-hungry components cool, Mechrevo offers the option to attach an external water cooler to the laptops. They connect through the liquid tubes on the back of the systems, much like how the XMG Neo 15 works with the XMG OASIS external water cooling setup.

Now, it’s not like gamers would need to use the external water-cooling setup to play games on the two Mechrevo laptops. Both have a dual-fan cooler inside, which seems to be robust enough to keep the CPU and GPU cool. Also, while the chassis of the Kuangshi 16 Super and Yanshi 16 Super seem a little different, they appear to be using the same external radiator.

Regarding the other specs of the gaming laptops, they also are top-of-the-line. For example, both feature a 16-inch screen with 2560x1600 pixels resolution, 100% sRGB color gamut, and a 240 Hz refresh rate. There’s a good number of ports as well. They have Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, and USB 3.2 ports.

Pricing-wise, the two gaming laptops are around CNY 15,000 (about $2,070) for the RTX 4080 config, while the RTX 4090 config goes for around CNY 20,000 (about $2760). There appear to be non-water-cooled versions available too. Depending on the config, they go for CNY 10,000 (around $1380) or less.

That said, Mechrevo isn’t known for selling its laptops in regions outside of China. But if you want to purchase something similar to two of its new gaming laptops, check out the Eluktronics Prometheus XVI G2 (available on Amazon). It can be equipped with an RTX 4090, has a last-gen yet capable Intel Core i9-13900HX, and can be water-cooled with an external radiator.
