Prices for RTX 4090 gaming laptops are in free fall especially now that Black Friday is so close. Initially priced at more than US$4,000 in early 2023, the Eluktronics Prometheus XVI G2 model powered by Intel’s i9-13900HX CPU along with a 175 W RTX 4090 dGPU plus an external liquid cooling box is now available on Amazon for only US$2,499.95.

There are several configurations but only the 32 GB DDR5-4800 RAM + 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD one is seeing limited stocks. Besides the i9-13900HX processor with 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores (32 threads) boosting at 5.4 GHz, this model features a quality 16-inch display with 2560 x 1600 resolution, 240 Hz refresh rate, 500-nit max brightness and 100% sRGB color gamut. The powerful RTX 4090 dGPU with 16 GB VRAM also benefits from a MUX switch.

On the port selection side, we find a Thunderbolt 4 connector that is directly linked to the RTX 4090, 1x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, HDMI 2.1 video out, audio jacks, 2.5 GbE jack and a full-size SD card reader. Wireless connectivity is available via a Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.2 card. A full-size keyboard with 4 RGB zones is also provided, but this only has membrane keys. The webcam is limited to 720p. Together with the 62 Wh battery, the laptop weighs 5.3 lbs.

The internal laptop cooling system features liquid metal compound for both CPU and GPU, and to further boost the thermal performance, Eluktronics is adding a second gen Liquid Propulsion Package that circulates cold distilled water through the internal heatsink.
