MagyarSlimbook Fedora 2 laptop available in 14" and 16" with Fedora Linux 40
Due to the positive feedback from the Fedora community, the Spanish hardware manufacturer has relaunched its Slimbook as "Slimbook Fedora 2" to coincide with the release of Fedora 40. The Slimbook Fedora 2 is available in either 16 or 14 inches and in black and silver colour options; Fedora Linux 40 is pre-installed as a default on the new notebooks.
The two new Slimbook Fedora 2 notebooks (14 and 16 inches) are powered by an Intel Core i7-13700H with 14 cores and 20 threads, offering a boost clock of up to 5GHz. The memory is not soldered and can be configured in the Slimbook Store with DDR5 RAM at 5,200 MT/s from 16 to 64 GB. While the 14-inch model uses the integrated Intel Xe graphics unit, the 16-inch version of the Slimbook Fedora 2 has a dedicated Nvidia Geforce RTX 4060 graphics unit with 8 GB of GDDR6 video memory.
The displays of the 14-inch and 16-inch models of the Slimbook Fedora 2 have a 16:10 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels (14-inch) respectively 2560 x 1600 pixels (16-inch) at a refresh rate of 90 Hz, with a maximum brightness of 400 nits, according to the manufacturer. Various keyboard languages in ISO and ANSI layouts are also available.
The new Linux laptops can be ordered with an M.2 NVMe SSD (PCIe 4) with up to 8TB of storage, and Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C Gen2 10Gbps can also be used. The 16-inch model has an 82 Wh battery and weighs 1.6kg, while the smaller 14-inch model has a 99 Wh battery and weighs just 1.3kg.
Pricing and availability
The Slimbook Fedora 2 (14-inch) starts at 1,399 Euros (approximately $1,500), while the 16-inch version can be configured and ordered from 1,799 Euros (approximately $1,900). More information on the new Slimbook Fedora 2 can be found on the manufacturer's website.
