The Ryzen 5 7500F is the latest entry into the Zen 4 desktop CPU family. The processor costs US$179 and supports A620 motherboards making it a good choice for budget-focused gamers. According to Quasarzone’s review of the chip, the Ryzen 5 7500F performs better than the more expensive Core i5-13500 and the Core i5-13400 in gaming workloads.

A reference to what seems like an AMD Zen 5 Ryzen 8050 Strix Point APU with 12 cores has been spotted on the MilkyWay@Home computing project. Details of the APU are not entirely clear, but rumors so far indicate up to a 45 W TDP, a mix of Zen 5 and Zen 5c cores, and 24 MB unified L3 cache.

A new video from hardware purists Gamers Nexus has seen a trip to AMD labs in Austin result in the showing off of various unreleased processors. A potential AMD Ryzen Threadripper 5990X was part of the show followed by a couple of unreleased chips sporting a huge L3 cache of 192 MB, with these presumably being the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X3D and Ryzen 9 5950X3D.

AMD has announced that the Ryzen 8000 desktop CPU roster will contain Strix Point APUs. The Strix Point APUs are expected to combine Zen 5 cores and RDNA 3+/3.5 iGPU for discreet board-level graphics performance. According to the latest Moore’s Law Is Dead video, the desktop Strix Point chips may only pack Zen 5 cores skipping on small Zen 5c cores.

After revealing the preliminary specifications of the Zen 5 architecture, Paul from RedGamingTech has given some more details regarding the new architecture. The leaker now alleges that AMD Zen 5 processors could have a larger L1 cache and a boost frequency of up to 6 GHz.

MSI has announced an all-new Alpha 17 lineup with AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX Dragon Range APUs and a choice of Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 Laptop GPUs. This year's Alpha 17 offerings come with improved QHD 240 Hz displays that cover 100% DCI-P3 and are also the world's first laptops to feature Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Wi-Fi 7 WLAN.

Acer is upgrading its Swift Edge 16 premium business laptop ahead of Computex 2023. The Acer Swift Edge 16 features AMD Ryzen 7040 APUs with up to Radeon 780M graphics and a 16:10 120 Hz WQXGA+ OLED panel among other features. Acer has also equipped the Swift Edge 16 with a QHD 1440p webcam and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.

CTO Mark Papermaster revealed at this year's ITF World event that AMD will soon introduce its own hybrid core technology with performance cores and efficiency cores similar to Intel's and Apple's implementations. This technology is to be featured on server-grade processors as well, and AMD will extensively use generative AI to improve energy efficiency along with core speeds.

The Asus ROG Ally is capable of handling a host of popular console emulators thanks to AVX-512 support in its Ryzen Z1 APU. The Ally was shown to effectively run popular console emulators — from light ones such as the PPSPP for the PSP to the more complex ones including Xenia for the Xbox 360 and RPCS3 for the PS3.

Although the details regarding the shipment date, hardware setup choices, and prices are still unknown, Minisforum has officially unveiled the Venus UM780 Pro and UM790 Pro mini PCs. The first one sports an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS, while the other comes with a Ryzen 9 7940HS inside. Both feature a new cooling system.

For now, only select mobile-grade processors will feature the AI XDNA IPUs. AMD is considering IPUs for desktop and server CPUs some time in the next three years, not before software support sees clear expansion.

The teaser image shows two USB4 ports and Chinese sources suggest that the UM780 model is powered by the R9 7840HS APU, while the UM790 Pro packs the R9 7940HS, both integrating the powerful Radeon 780M GPU with 12 RDNA 3 CUs.

The higher-end Ryzen 9 7000X3D sales are certainly eclipsed by the Ryzen 7 7800X3D ones all over the world. Retailers like Newegg are now trying to entice AMD fans with 10% discounts on the more expensive models with 3D V-Cache.
