Now that mini PC makers are shifting their focus on the latest Ryzen 7000 APUs from AMD, many models featuring previous gen Ryzen 6000 processors are seeing heavy discounts and Amazon has a great deal in this regard with the GMKtec Nucbox K1 powered by the Ryzen 7 6800H. This APU is still a solid solution as it features integrated Radeon 680M graphics, and when paired with 32 GB of DDR5 RAM plus a 1 TB NVMe SSD for only US$476.99, the value proposition is unbeatable.

According to GMKtec’s internal testing results, the Radeon 680M iGPU with 12 RDNA 2 cores can run God of War and Cyberpunk 2077 at 40 fps in 1080p with FSR 2.0, while Witcher 3 Wild Hunt can run at up to 50 fps in 1080p. However, GMKtec does not specify the exact settings. There is also a relatively silent cooler to allow for unthrottled CPU and iGPU operation.

The port selection is quite robust, as it features 1x USB4 connector for external discrete graphics, 3x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, 1x USB 2.0, 2x HDMI 2.0b, audio jack and 2.5 GbE jack. Wireless connectivity is offered via a Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.2 card. GMKtec supplies a PCIe 3.0 SSD, but users can upgrade the storage solution to a PCIe 4.0 SSD with up to 2 TB capacity. Furthermore, the RAM side supports up to 64 GB.

With a case that measures 4.40 x 4.84 x 1.69 inches and weighs 3.14 lbs, the Nucbox K1 can be easily mounted on the back of a monitor via the supplied VESA mount.
