Huawei is bringing the MateBook X and Renoir-powered MateBook 14 to Europe. The two machines will arrive in October for €1,499 and €849, respectively. However, the MateBook 14 will be the more powerful of the two with up to a Ryzen 7 4800H processor.

NVIDIA recently announced the GeForce MX450 based on the TU117 GTX 1650 GPU but was quiet about the specs or performance. Chinese publication Zhuanlan has managed to take the MX450 for a test ride and found that it offers a very good performance bump over the MX350. However, this is at the expense of reduced memory bandwidth and raster operator (ROPs) count along with surprisingly higher power draws compared to the GTX 1650 Max-Q.

Rumour has it that Microsoft is working on a 12.5-inch version of the Surface Laptop. Apparently to be billed as a budget model in the same vein as the Surface Go, the device will start at US$500-US$600 with a 10th generation Core i5 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.

The HP 250 G7 offers a current Ice Lake processor, a GeForce graphics core, 8 GB of RAM, and an NVMe SSD for just under 500 Euros (~$592). The built-in display is a disappointment.

Intel should use real-world retail laptops to represent their Core i7-1165G7 benchmarks instead of in-house kits that will likely never make it onto store shelves. Their initial benchmark scores don't mean very much if the average Core i7-1165G7 can potentially run much slower on final OEM designs.

Alongside the new Prestige 14, MSI has also introduced the Prestige 14 Evo edition that complies with Intel Evo specifications. The Prestige 14 Evo is in many ways similar to the non-Evo variant except that it features a 1 W display and does not come with discrete NVIDIA graphics.

The revised MSI Prestige 15 comes with up to an Intel Core i7-1185G7, Iris Xe Graphics and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q GPU. The 15-inch machine has two Thunderbolt 4 ports too, along with an 82 Wh battery, dual SO-DIMM slots and two M.2 drive bays.

The new MSI Prestige 14 has been announced in a choice of Intel Tiger Lake processors. The refreshed 14-inch laptop retains the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q GPU of its predecessor and its 52 Wh battery. MSI has unveiled a Prestige 14 EVO too, which has a 1 W display but no dedicated graphics.

MSI has unveiled its new line of business laptops. Dubbed the Summit Series, the new machines pack Tiger Lake CPUs and optional Nvidia GeForce or Intel Xe graphics cards. The laptops are specifically designed for business professionals with plenty of security and business features onboard.

The MSI Stealth 15M thin and light gaming laptop comes with Intel's 11th-generation Tiger Lake hardware. GPU options include the Intel Xe, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, and GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q. The notebook can be configured with up to 64GB of RAM and 2TB of solid-state storage. Its base variant will retail at $1549 and will be available online starting October 2020.

The new thin and light Samsung Galaxy Book Flex 5G convertible ultrabook packs Intel's new i5 / i7 quad-core Tiger Lake-U CPUs with integrated Iris Xe graphics coupled with up to 16 GB of LPDDR4x-4266 RAM and up to 512 GB of NVMe SSD storage. It is also the first laptop to feature a 13 MP camera, and, thanks to the new Intel Evo specs, it also comes with a Thunderbolt 4 port.

Active noise cancellation (ANC) has been found to be of interest for 71% of consumers planning to buy true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds. However, the feature does require physical seals and a fit that some users may find less tolerable over time. Qualcomm claims that its new Adaptive ANC solves these problems.

You can't have it all when it comes to subnotebooks. If you value a super-bright 1000-nit display, then the HP EliteBook x360 will be the best option. If you rather have a proximity sensor for hands-free login, then you'll have to go with the Dell Latitude.

For laptops in the area between €600 and €800, there will always be compromises. This is the case with the Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 2 as well. Still: It is the best ThinkPad of the affordable E series so far.

The first Ice Lake laptops launched late last year for around $1500 USD. Will the first Tiger Lake laptops be just as pricey? We're hopeful that the outstanding performance-per-dollar of current AMD Ryzen Zen 2 laptops will persuade OEMs to launch Tiger Lake models at lower prices.

Dynabook launched two laptops today. The Portégé X30W-J and Portégé X30L-J are Tiger Lake laptops with Intel's Iris Xe Graphics. Both laptops weigh less than one kilogram (2.2. pounds) and are equipped with two Thunderbolt 4 ports.
