We ran 3DMark on over 40 different 11th gen Core i7 Iris Xe laptops: These are the slowest and fastest models you can buy

11th gen Tiger Lake seems to be having a greater impact on the laptop market than 10th gen Ice Lake ever had. As of this writing, we've tested at least 43 different laptops all equipped with the Core i7-1165G7 CPU compared to just 33 laptops with the Core i7-1065G7 even though the the latter CPU had a whole year head start.

If you could choose the Core i7 laptop with the fastest integrated Iris Xe graphics, however, which one would it be? Our 3DMark graph below compares all 43 Core i7 Iris Xe laptops we've tested thus far to show the slowest and fastest models of the bunch. Based on these results, you can't go wrong with the ADATA XPG Xenia Xe or MSI Prestige 14 Evo as the Iris Xe GPU in each are about 13 to 20 percent faster than the average in our database. The ADATA model in particular was co-developed by Intel and so it's perhaps unsurprising that it also happens to be one of the fastest on the list.

On the opposite end of the spectrum are the HP ProBook 440 G8, Durabook S14I, and the Intel NUC11PAQi7 with each system coming out to be around 20 to 30 percent slower than the average Iris Xe 96 EUs in our database. The ProBook and Durabook models are professional systems where security often takes priority over maximum CPU performance. Meanwhile, the Intel NUC11PAQi7 mini PC was running on just single-channel RAM which invariably affected its graphics scores.

Power consumption will be slightly higher on laptops with faster than average Iris Xe performance. The 15.6-inch XPG Xenia Xe, for example, consumes around 44 W when gaming compared to 37 W on the slower 15.6-inch MSI Summit B15 each with the same CPU.

Of course, there's more to a laptop than just raw graphics performance. Laptops with slower-than-average Iris Xe performance may be better at other aspects that users may be interested in.
