HP has announced a new sub-brand of gaming laptops to complement the Omen lineup. Victus by HP 16 will be available in both Intel and AMD options and offers display options up to QHD 165 Hz. Victus by HP 16 is designed to cater to those who want capable hardware without having to splurge too much on a high-end gaming laptop.

HP has introduced several refreshes to its Omen gaming laptop lineup today. Apart from this, the company is also introducing a new series of gaming laptops called Victus by HP 16. The Victus by HP 16, or HP Victus 16 if you will, is designed to cater to gamers who want capable hardware for the price but aren't ready to part with substantial dough for a top-end gaming laptop just yet.

Victus by HP 16 offers display options up to a QHD 165 Hz IPS display with 100% sRGB coverage, 300 nits brightness, and EyeSafe low-blue light emissions. Buyers can choose between Intel Core i7-11800H and AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor options that can be paired with up to 32 GB of DDR4-3200 memory. On the graphics front, Victus by HP 16 allows you to select between an NVIDA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU and an AMD Radeon RX 5500M. HP said that it is using a 5-way airflow with a 4-heatpipe design for enhanced thermals. The base of the device offers a 70% larger air inlet for powering 60 W and 80 W graphics options.

HP is offering several storage choices including a 1 TB PCIe Gen4 SSD or dual SSDs in RAID 0 as well as Intel Optane options.

Victus by HP 16 sports a distinctive "V" logo at several places including on the lid, underneath the display, and the speaker grill. HP said that it is using the familiar Omen font on the keyboard along with dedicated keys for the Omen Gaming Hub, power, and calculator. The keyboard does not seem to offer per-key RGB effects but standard backlighting is available.

Victus by HP 16 will be available in Mica Silver, Performance Blue, and Ceramic White color options and is expected to be available from June at prices starting from US$799.99 for the AMD models and US$849.99 for the Intel variants.
