Deal | HP Omen 15z with AMD Ryzen 5 5600H, GeForce RTX 3060 graphics, and 144 Hz IPS display is on sale for $1064 USD
HP's latest gaming laptop is a significant improvement over the older Omen 15 model. For just over $1000 USD, this is a well-rounded deal save for the measly 8 GB of system RAM that's thankfully user upgradeable.
The official HP online store is offering the Omen 15z-en100 gaming laptop for $1064 USD after applying the coupon code 'SPR21SAV5' at checkout. This particular Omen 15 model is the latest design and not the older one which had thicker bezels and a heavier weight.
Core specifications are respectable for a gaming laptop retailing for just over a grand. The Ryzen 5 5600H CPU in particular is comparable to the Intel Core i7-10875H or i7-10870H commonly found on most other pricier gaming laptops. The mobile GeForce RTX 3060 will also provide a noticeable boost over the mobile RTX 2060 even if it's nowhere near the desktop RTX 3060. The low 8 GB of RAM may be a deal breaker for many, but it is at least upgradeable and not soldered.

There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
