The long wait has come to an end, since at Gamescom, AMD has finally introduced the midrange graphics cards based on the RDNA 3 architecture that were still missing, thus completing their lineup. We took a closer look at the AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT and compared the performance in numerous games.

AMD’s RDNA 3 lineup includes the flagship RX 7900 XTX, high-end RX 7900 XT, mid-range RX 7800 XT, RX 7700 XT, and budget RX 7600. Now, a slew of new GPU listings by PowerColor in the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) database suggest that AMD might be preparing the RX 7600 XT, a potential contender sitting between the RX 7600 and the RX 7700 XT.

The AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT and the RX 7700 XT are Team Red’s newest mid-range RDNA 3 boards that went on sale starting September 6. According to the newest report from Moore’s Law Is Dead and TechEpiphany, the RX 7800 XT is a hot seller as it apparently went out of stock at various retailers on launch day and was the best-selling card on Mindfactory during the launch week.

While first-party performance claims should always be taken with skepticism, it seems that Team Red’s official numbers for the RX 7700 XT might not be far off as leaked 3DMark Time Spy Graphics score of the GPU places the board comfortably above the RTX 4060 Ti.

AMD's Frank Azor confirmed that they are not holding back Bethesda from including support for DLSS in Starfield if they wish to. While all GPUs from the Radeon RX 590 and GeForce RTX 10 Series onwards can leverage AMD's upcoming FSR 3 tech, frame generation via Fluid Motion Frames will require RDNA 1 or a Turing card at the minimum.

The Navi 4C on display appears to be fairly complex potentially explaining why the company has supposedly canned the top-end designs.

AMD has reportedly canceled the high-end RDNA 4 offerings. The remaining SKUs, namely the Navi 43 and Navi 44, could be the only RX 8000 GPUs to release next year according to recent leaks. Serial leaker Tom of Moore's Law Is Dead claims that the cancelation is supposedly to speed up RDNA 5 development.

AMD’s cheapest RDNA 3 card, the RX 7600, has an MSRP of US$270. Folks that want something more affordable currently have no option but to shop for older GPUs. However, this might change with the RX 7500 specs of which have leaked out.

For reference, the RX 7900 XTX / XT cards are considered "ultra-enthusiast", so AMD is not launching something more powerful than the RX 7900 XTX. Not yet, at least. Instead, Team Red is most likely readying the launch for the RX 7800 and 7700 cards.

According to recent 3DMark Time Spy Graphics figures reported by leaker All_The_Watts, the RX 7800 and RX 7700 could outpace the RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 Ti respectively.

The Framework Laptop 16, a modular gaming notebook Framework announced in March, is now available for pre-order. While the price for a DIY version starts at US$1399, adding a discrete GPU module bumps the price by $400 to $1799. A fully assembled model starts at $1699 without the dGPU and $2099 with one.

It appears that the Navi 32-based RX 7800 and the RX 7700 might be on the horizon as new information from Moore’s Law Is Dead suggests that AMD is getting ready to release the cards in a couple of months. The leaker has also claimed that the RX 7900 based on the cut-down Navi 31 GPU could see an unusual launch with constrained supply.

The Radeon RX 6650M dGPU is up to 10% faster than an RTX 3060 in raster performance and also offers 2 more GB of VRAM. Complementing the APU and dGPU are 16 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM plus the storage side comes with a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.

Sometimes, it can be worth it to buy last year's hardware. There is no reason to call something bad, just because it is a few months old. The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 3 AMD is such a case.
