There are many new Chinese system integrators that specialize in mini PCs and laptops, but not too many actually get featured on Amazon US. Firebat, for instance, has its “official” store on AliExpress, yet it managed to recently land on Amazon too. GMKtec and Firebat are currently the only brands to commercialize mini PCs powered by AMD’s higher-end Hawk Point processors on Amazon. However, Firebat’s configurations are more tailored for the budget-oriented buyers with default RAM capacities of only 16 GB, whereas GMKtec’s configurations feature at least 32 GB of RAM. The other specs are mostly the same, but the RAM difference leads to a hefty $200+ drop in price for the Firebat models, which make them an excellent deal for the power they offer.

Firebat’s Hawk Point mini PCs are part of the A8 series and they come powered by the Ryzen 7 8845HS APUs with 8 cores / 16 threads and 5.1 GHz boost clocks. The processor also integrates the Radeon 780M GPU and a second gen NPU capable of crunching AI tasks with up to 38 TOPs. This model comes with bottom and top fans to ensure proper heat dissipation, and Firebat claims these are relatively quiet. Supplied RAM capacity, as stated before, is limited to 16 GB DDR5-5600, but users can add up to 64 GB. Storage is handled by a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD and there is support for dual SSDs via 2x M.2 slots.

Port selection is very robust for this price point. It offers two USB4 connectors, 4x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 connectors, 2x USB 2.0, HDMI 2.1 + DP 1.4 video outs, dual 2.5 GbE jacks, dual audio jacks and even a TF card reader. Wireless connectivity is offered via a Wi-Fi 6 + BT 5.2 card. The mini PC measures 5.8 x 4.96 x 1.96 inches and weighs 3.85 lbs. Firebat packages this model with a power adapter, an HDMI cable and a VESA mount.
