Colorful intros its first mini PC, plans to release more systems with Intel Core Ultra 5 and AMD Ryzen 7 CPUs

The first Colorful mini PC has landed in the Chinese market. Named CMHN01-12450, the computer was launched in China at a starting price of CNY 1559, which is about $219. It packs the Intel Core i5-12450H, a 2022 CPU from the Alder Lake family that features 8 cores and 12 threads.

That’s certainly not the latest or most powerful CPU you can find in a mini PC, but the company has revealed that it has more tiny computers in the works. They will come with the latest Intel Core Ultra 5 125H and AMD Ryzen 7 8845H processors. These systems will likely launch in the coming weeks. As with the CMHN01-12450, Colorful mainly targets budget-conscious buyers who don’t need top-of-the-line performance.

More specifically, the company says that its first mini PC is designed to tackle productivity and entertainment needs. It aims to do that without taking up too much space in your work setup. Now, while the computer has a compact footprint, it equips a decent number of ports.

That includes one Type-C, two USB 2.0, one 2.5G Ethernet, one HDMI, One DisplayPort, and two USB 3.2 ports. For wireless connectivity, there are WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. The Colorful CMHN01-12450 mini PC also has support for PCIe 4.0 SSD (Crucial P3 Plus 1 TB curr. $69.99 on Amazon) and can hold up to 64 GB of DDR4 SO-DIMM RAM running at 3200 MHz.

Besides, Colorful has packed a decent cooling solution into this mini PC. It equips a “low-noise turbo” fan that’s paired with a dual vent design. The company says that this cooling setup allows the computer to run quietly, even at high loads. There’s no word on global pricing and availability yet, but those details should emerge soon.
