AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT launched as an Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti competitor with a launch price of $449. While the company thought the price offered a very good value, it actually didn't. The main reason behind that is that the Nvidia graphics card was already being criticized for being more expensive than it should be.
But now that the card partners have started to offer the GPU for around the $400 mark, the Radeon RX 7700 XT is a better pick than ever. What makes this deal even better is that you have multiple options to choose from. Some of them are:
- PowerColor Fighter AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT (curr. $399.99 on Amazon)
- ASRock Challenger Radeon RX 7700 XT (curr. $394.99 on Newegg)
- PowerColor Hellhound AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT (curr. $399.99 on Amazon)
- Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 7700 XT (curr. $399.99 on Amazon)
As for the performance, with 12 GB of VRAM, the GPU can handle 1080p just fine. It can even do decent 1440p gaming as well. Compared to the RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB, the AMD graphics card is definitely faster without the ray tracing turned on. The case is the same for the 8 GB variant of the Nvidia GPU.
With the ray tacing on, however, just like any other GPU from AMD, the RX 7700 XT can't keep up with Nvidia's alternative. Of course, this isn't the first time we've seen price cuts for the latest Radeon graphics cards. The top-end RX 7900 XT recently dropped much lower than the regular $749 price tag.
With that, it seems that the trend of AMD Radeon RX lineup of GPU seeing generous discounts has finally started. This also hints that the market is getting prepped for the upcoming RDNA 4 cards.
