MINISFORUM has teased two mini-PCs with thin and stylish designs. Based on Intel NUC X15 laptop kits, the pair will combine Intel Tiger Lake processors with discrete GPU options. Effectively a laptop without a display, the MINISFORUM NUCX15 and NUCX17 will be available later this year.

RAM specs will be upgraded to DDR5-5600, yet budget motherboards may still offer DDR4-3200 support. PCIe 5.0 is supported solely through the CPU via 16 lanes, so PCIe 5.0 GPUs will only run at 8X if PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSDs are detected. The Raptor Lake desktop platform will support additional PCIe 4.0 lanes to compensate.

An early look at an Intel Raptor Lake Core i9-13900 Engineering Sample was published by Chinese publication Expreview. The Core i9-13900 was compared to an Alder Lake Core i9-12900K, which had all cores locked at 3.8 GHz to make for a reasonable comparison. The tests showed Core i9-13900 to be about 20% faster than the Core i9-12900K in Cinebench multi-core but performance lagged behind the latter in single-core and gaming benchmarks.
