AYN Technologies has revised plans for its LOKI gaming handheld series. Previously, the company hoped to deliver seven models consisting of two Intel SKUs and five AMD options. However, the company claims that limited demand has forced it to abandon three SKUs, including all Intel models.

AYN Technologies has confirmed that is edging closer to releasing LOKI gaming handhelds, almost a year after unveiling the series. Supposedly, the company has finalised the Design Validation Testing (DVT) phase of the LOKI Mini Pro with the AMD Ryzen 3 7320U. Moreover, AYN Technologies claims to have received the case mould for the same model, which it will start testing later this week.

Similarly, it is now in possession of 100 LOKI and LOKI Max boards. However, release dates for all models remain pending, although AYN Technologies continues to take pre-orders on its website. For reference, the LOKI series tops out with the LOKI Max, a US$775 SKU that relies on the Ryzen 7 6800U and Radeon 680M. In other words, the LOKI Max continues to cost roughly as much as the AOKZOE A1 Pro and the ASUS ROG Ally, despite the release of newer and more powerful Ryzen 7000 or Ryzen Z1 series APUs.

Additionally, AYN Technologies has axed three models from its LOKI lineup. According to Liliputing, the company failed to meet minimum order quantities for Pentium 8505 Gold, Core i3-1215U models, as well as the AMD 7000 version of the LOKI Mini. As such, the LOKI Zero, LOKI Mini Pro, LOKI and LOKI Max remain for between US$249 and US$775. Thankfully, AYN Technologies will refund people who placed pre-orders for cancelled models. Alternatively, it will offer credits towards one of the four remaining LOKI models.
