The Intel Core i7-5960X is the top model from the expensive Hawell-E series. It is made for the LGA2011-3 socket and offers 8 CPU cores (16 Threads), a quad-channel DDR4 memory controller and 20 MB of Level 3 cache. The processor cores are clocked between 3 and 3,5 GHz. With a specified TDP of 140 Watt, the i7-5960X is a very power hungry CPU.
