AMD has unveiled its new Zen 4-based Ryzen 7000 chips for desktops. It has three SKUs, the Ryzen 9 Pro 7945, Ryzen 7 Pro 7745 and Ryzen 5 Pro 7645. All three 5 nm chips will run in any AM5 motherboard and support DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen 5 peripherals.

One-netbook has revealed the ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro, the third version of the ONEXPLAYER 2, after it released AMD Ryzen 7 6800U and Intel Core i7-1370P versions. Now, the company has brought the Ryzen 7 7840U to the ONEXPLAYER 2 platform, which brings Zen 4 cores and the RDNA 3 architecture via the Radeon 780M.

The APEX 15 / 17 models as well as a new 16-inch CORE laptop are scheduled to receive the AMD Phoenix treatment with a Ryzen 7 7840HS APU later this summer. However, even though the integrated Radeon 780M GPU is already good enough for 1080p gaming, XMG cannot eliminate the dGPU options.

The EM780 is among the smallest mini PCs made by Minisforum, but it can support up to a Ryzen 7 7840U with eight Zen 4 cores and an RDNA 3 Radeon 780M. Despite the tiny case, Minisforum even managed to add active coolers for the processor and the M.2 storage.

At its Computex 2023 booth, Minisforum is displaying motherboards that will be featured in high-end mini PCs launching towards the end of 2023. Both the Intel and the AMD models feature a PCIe 4.0 slot for a full-size GPU that can be connected via a riser cable.

XMG has brought its first ever gaming laptops to support the AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS to show off as part of its Computex 2023 showcase. The latest (or M23) APEX 15- and 17-inch models also boast 'full power' RTX 4050 or 4060 graphics, Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0. The potentially affordable new PCs also feature upgradable RAM and SSD storage.

With a maximum price of US$679 recorded on the first day of March 2023, the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D is now down to a US$599 list price. The ongoing 5% discount takes it to US$571.03, which is the lowest price so far. Those who buy it can also receive 90 days of Amazon Music Unlimited and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for free.

AYA NEO is now selling the AYA NEO 2S and GEEK 1S, its first AMD Ryzen 7 7840U-based gaming handhelds. Available in various memory configurations and colours, the pair should start shipping in under two month's time.

MSI has announced an all-new Alpha 17 lineup with AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX Dragon Range APUs and a choice of Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 Laptop GPUs. This year's Alpha 17 offerings come with improved QHD 240 Hz displays that cover 100% DCI-P3 and are also the world's first laptops to feature Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Wi-Fi 7 WLAN.

The Beelink GTR7 series is now orderable with AMD Zen 4 Phoenix APUs. Available from US$750, the GTR7 series comes in GTR7 and GTR7 Pro flavours with Ryzen 7 7840HS and Ryzen 9 7940HS processors.

Acer is upgrading its Swift Edge 16 premium business laptop ahead of Computex 2023. The Acer Swift Edge 16 features AMD Ryzen 7040 APUs with up to Radeon 780M graphics and a 16:10 120 Hz WQXGA+ OLED panel among other features. Acer has also equipped the Swift Edge 16 with a QHD 1440p webcam and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.

The Asus ROG Ally is capable of handling a host of popular console emulators thanks to AVX-512 support in its Ryzen Z1 APU. The Ally was shown to effectively run popular console emulators — from light ones such as the PPSPP for the PSP to the more complex ones including Xenia for the Xbox 360 and RPCS3 for the PS3.

Although the details regarding the shipment date, hardware setup choices, and prices are still unknown, Minisforum has officially unveiled the Venus UM780 Pro and UM790 Pro mini PCs. The first one sports an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS, while the other comes with a Ryzen 9 7940HS inside. Both feature a new cooling system.

The teaser image shows two USB4 ports and Chinese sources suggest that the UM780 model is powered by the R9 7840HS APU, while the UM790 Pro packs the R9 7940HS, both integrating the powerful Radeon 780M GPU with 12 RDNA 3 CUs.

The higher-end Ryzen 9 7000X3D sales are certainly eclipsed by the Ryzen 7 7800X3D ones all over the world. Retailers like Newegg are now trying to entice AMD fans with 10% discounts on the more expensive models with 3D V-Cache.

AMD has unveiled four new laptop processors, the Ryzen 7 7840U, Ryzen 5 7640U, Ryzen 5 7540U and Ryzen 3 7440U. All four SKUs have a TDP of 15-30 Watts and come with a new RDNA3-based iGPU.

A trio of fearsome AMD Dragon Range laptops have appeared on a Chinese retailer, coming courtesy of the manufacturer MECHREVO. The Jiaolong 16 Pro gaming laptops feature either an AMD Ryzen 9 7845HX processor or a Ryzen 9 7945HX part and either a GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU or the RTX 4070 Laptop variant. Prices start from the equivalent of around US$1,084.

With increasing concerns of Ryzen 7000 series CPUs getting burnt and killing the motherboard along with them, AMD has issued an official clarification that it is seeding AGESA updates to board partners that can help mitigate the issue. Users report that they started experiencing dead CPUs after enabling EXPO memory profiles, but AMD's statement confirms that EXPO and PBO capabilities will continue to work as intended.

According to the GMK's leaked slides, the first mini PCs powered by AMD's Ryzen 7 7840H and Ryzen 9 7940H APUs should launch in just a few weeks. The spec sheet shows that the Radeon 780M iGPU will benefit from LPDDR5x-7500 RAM in capacities of up to 256 GB. Minisforum, Morefine and Asus are also expected to launch similar configurations in June-July.

New information about AMD's upcoming mobile APUs have leaked online indicating significant upgrades to CPU and GPU performance. Next gen APUs include Hawk Point and Strix Point for the Premium Mobile segment, Strix Halo that is slated to take on Apple silicon with RTX 4070-class RDNA 3.5 graphics, and Fire Range, which is the purported successor to Dragon Range.

Just like the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and the Ryzen 9 7900X3D, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D has a 64 MB 3D V-Cache stacked on top of the single CCD bringing the total amount of L3 cache to 96 MB. Per 3DCenter’s launch review roundup, not only does the cheapest Ryzen 7000X3D CPU sip power, the presence of 3D V-Cache propels the Ryzen 7 7800X3D to the top of the gaming charts.

The latest version of the a-X2P portable workstation from MediaWorkstations now supports AMD EPYC Genoa procesors with up to 192 Zen 4 cores and twice as many threads. It also features 3 TB of DDR5-4800 RAM, but users can further upgrade to 6 TB, and MediaWorkstations offers configurations with up to two professional GPUs.

The AMD EPYC 9474F server processor has turned up on PassMark and managed to outscore a Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX in the CPU Mark test suite despite having much fewer cores. The EPYC 9474F is part of the Zen 4-based Genoa family whereas the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX featured as part of the Zen 3-based Chagall series.

Introduced on Amazon at the end of last September, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X had an MSRP of US$699 at launch. Still listed by AMD with this price (and out of stock after a recent US$100 discount), this processor is now down from US$799 to US$585.99 on Amazon thanks to a 27% discount.

AMD is not applying any price cuts for the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, unfortunately, even though it is a bit slower overall compared to the new Ryzen 7 7800X3D in games. Nevertheless, the Ryzen 9 7900X3D sees a US$50 reduction, while the Ryzen 9 7950X slips under US$600, and the Ryzen 9 7900X receives the biggest price cut down to US$423.99.

The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is up to 31% faster than the Intel Core i9-13900K in AMD's in-house benchmarks. Some of the games tested include Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, CS: GO and Far Cry 6. All of the aforementioned tests were performed at 1080p with High settings.

AMD is set to release the 8-core Ryzen 7 7800X3D early next month. The CPU has now made a stop at the SiSoftware benchmark and scored 395 GOPS in the Processor Arithmetic test. The score puts the CPU quite a bit ahead of the Zen 3 Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

Lenovo has added a new Slim 7 variant to its Yoga line-up, touted as slim, elegant, yet performance-forward thanks to a Ryzen 7000-driven OLED display and dual USB4 ports. Accordingly, the OEM touts it as capable of some photo-editing as well as video-conferencing with a ToF-augmented webcam. Then again, there are no discrete graphics for its new high-end screen.

The 2023 Yoga Slim 6 ultrabook comes with three screen options including an FHD+ OLED and it is powered by AMD's latest Ryzen 7000U Phoenix mobile processors with fast RDNA 3 iGPUs. It also features a USB4 connector and an 180° hinge.

Lenovo has unveiled the Ryzen 7000-powered Yoga Pro 7, and its Raptor Lake-based counterpart the Pro 7i, each with a choice of either RTX 3050 or 4050 discrete graphics. The two new laptop variants also boast the same up-to-3K/120Hz 16:10 IPS display with "premium" business features such as a webcam with a ToF sensor as well as IR and a battery capacity improved on compared to the previous generation.

A new leak sheds light on the Razer Blade 14 2023's specifications. It will use a Phoenix-based Ryzen 9 7940HS (35-54 Watts) CPU and an Ada Lovelace-based GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card. Razer is expected to unveil it sometime in the coming weeks.

With a Ryzen 9, RTX 4070, and 240-Hz panel, all the basics are in place for a gaming laptop. Our test shows that the hardware also keeps its promises. At the same time, the overall package might be too lopsided for some interested buyers.

The new 2023 model of the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 offers many highlights including the new GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop or the new 240 Hz Mini-LED screen. Asus also uses the new AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX, which beats Intel's HX CPUs and is also more efficient.

Documents leaked from Gigabyte reveal that AMD's AM5 platform supports Rembrandt and Phoenix processors in addition to the Raphael Ryzen 7000X released last year. This suggests that Team Red is preparing to update the Ryzen G-series with 6000G and 7000G models featuring the more powerful RDNA 2 and RDNA 3 iGPUs.

The R5 7640U APU is 25% faster than any previous gen AMD mobile processor in single-core tests, while for multi-core loads, it brings 60% improved performance over the Ryzen 5 6600U predecessor, and is just 15% slower than the Ryzen 9 6900HX.

The AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX APU has turned up on PassMark and in the process has delivered incredible single-thread and multi-test suite results. The Ryzen 9 7945HX is so powerful that it easily surpasses the mobile CPU competitor Intel Core i9-13980HX and sets its sights on the desktop monster i9-13900KS instead.
