ASRock introduced the Mini-STX form-factor back in 2017 with not much success. The standard is back again with the imminent launch of the DeskMini Q870 models that are roughly the size of an ATX PSU and feature support for desktop-grade Intel Arrow Lake processors and the new CSODIMM RAM standard.

Besides the Core 7 Ultra 256V processor with Arc 140V iGPU, highlights for this model include a 14-inch 1920 x 1200 OLED touchscreen, 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, Thunderbolt 4 port, microSD card reader and Wi-Fi 7 + BT 5.4 wireless connectivity. RAM is limited to 16 GB on-package, yet it features blazing fast LPDDR5X-8533 speeds.

The Neo 16 is XMG's gaming flagship at present. In addition to the fastest components, the 2025 version impresses with an excellent mini-LED panel and has the option of connecting an external water cooler. However, support for Advanced Optimus is still lacking.

Gigabyte has unveiled one of the most powerful eGPUs in the world at Computex. The manufacturer packs a water-cooled Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 into an eGPU enclosure that can be connected to laptops or mini PCs via Thunderbolt 5 in order to ensure the best possible performance.

This is the PHN14-51-79UB model that also features 16 GB LPDDR5X, 1 TB SSD, slim chassis with a quality 14.5-inch IPS 2560 x 1600 display, Thunderbolt 4 connector and microSD card reader.

The new ECS ultraportables to be showcased at Computex in a few weeks include the UP42AR with Intel Arrow Lake Core Ultra 2 series CPUs, the UP42KP equipped with AMD Krackan Point APUs and the UP42PW packing Snapdragon X Plus SoCs. All models support up to 64 GB DDR5-5600 RAM, 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD storage and come standard with USB4 / TB4 connectors, fingerprint sensor and microSD card reader.

Other premium features include the powerful Arc 140T iGPU, 16 GB of LPDDR5X-8448 RAM, and 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, Wi-Fi 7 wireless connectivity, dual Thunderbolt 4 connectors and a microSD card reader.

XMG updates the Pro 16 and it is now closer to the gaming flagship Neo 16. The result is a powerful gaming laptop with an Intel-HX CPU, the new RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU, 300 Hz IPS display, good maintenance options as well as a base price of 1999 Euros.

The new Asus ROG Strix G16 is a fast gaming notebook with an RTX 5080 Laptop, which is an excellent match for the native QHD resolution of its matte IPS panel. However, the 5080 Laptop is only available in combination with the Core Ultra 9 275HX. The faster Ryzen 9 9955HX, on the other hand, has to make do with the RTX 5070 Ti Laptop.

The OLED laptop comes with a 2880 x 1800 panel capable of 600 nit peak brightness in HDR mode and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. Also included are a 1 TB SSD, USB4 connectivity and a microSD card reader.

Anker has launched the Prime TB5 Docking Station (14-in-1, 8K, Thunderbolt 5) in the US and the EU. This new accessory is designed for gamers and creators, with a cooling system and ambient lighting. Features include multiple Thunderbolt 5 ports, support for an 8K output, and data transfer speeds up to 120 Gbps.

Lenovo upgrades its most expensive ThinkPad laptop series with more performance. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition and the ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 10 Aura Edition will soon be available with Intel Arrow Lake H and Arrow Lake U in addition to the existing Lunar Lake options.

The new Intel version of the Surface Pro convertible is not really interesting for private users due to the high price, but this problem is artificially created by Microsoft. This will damage the reputation of its own products and the company will eventually lose customers.

Lenovo's 2025 ThinkPads with AMD CPUs are limited to the eight core versions of Zen5 - at least until now. A product listing on Lenovo's Malaysian website suggests that we may soon see the first AMD ThinkPad with twelve CPU cores in the form of the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 AMD, as it is said to feature the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 370.

Lenovo offers a wide product lineup and it is not easy always easy to find the right device. It is even more complicated when you have two very similar products like the two 14-convertibles we just tested, where the less expensive Yoga 7 is actually better than the Yoga 9 in some respects.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X9-14 Gen 1 Aura Edition seems like an interesting hybrid of different Lenovo laptop lines: In terms of looks, it could be a Lenovo Yoga. In terms of the features, it could be a ThinkBook. But in terms of quality, it has all the hallmarks of a ThinkPad.

Dell has announced Premium versions of its new Pro Max 14 and 16 enterprise-grade laptops. They are equipped with tandem OLED displays of up to 4K in resolution, driven by next-gen RTX Pro Blackwell graphics. The PCs will also have Thunderbolt 4 to 5 ports to go with their HDMI 2.1, WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 specs.

For many years, the Lenovo ThinkPad X series was the convertible ThinkPad line - no matter if it was during the 2000s with the X Tablets or the 2010s with the ThinkPad Yoga. This is now the past. At MWC, we looked at the predecessor of the X convertible, the new ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1.

For the start of the MWC, Lenovo releases a new generation of ThinkPad laptops out into the world. The compact Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 6 receives some of the biggest upgrades. The now smallest ThinkPad laptop weighs below one kilogram. As for the CPUs, AMD Ryzen AI 300 or Intel Arrow Lake are gonna be offered.

This 2023 model packs premium features like the 14-inch Mini LED 2560 x 1600 125 - 250 Hz display with ~100% DCI-P3 color gamut, a Thunderbolt 4 port, micro SD card reader and fingerprint reader. Apart from the i7-13700H and the RTX 4070, it also comes equipped with 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD and 16 GB LPDDR5-6400 RAM.

Initially announced only with Intel Arrow Lake mobile processors, the NEO 16 2025 laptops are now launching with additional AMD Ryzen 9000/X3D APU options. The E25 (Intel) and A25 (AMD) variants are available for pre-sale with RTX 5090 / 5080 / 5070 Ti GPU options, up to 96 GB RAM, up to dual 8 TB SSD storage and up to a 16-inch Mini LED 300 Hz 2560 x 1600 display.
