It seems that Lenovo has prepared plenty of devices to unveil next week during IFA 2025 in Berlin. To recap, Evan Blass has shared photos of a new Lenovo concept laptop earlier today, as well as the Motorola Edge 60 Neo smartphone, the long-awaited Legion Go 2, a new 5K2K ThinkVision monitor and a host of ThinkPad laptops.
Now, the same leaker has provided an early look at the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 5 Smart Dock 7500, which is also listed alongside the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 5 Dock 7500 on the DisplayPort database. Incidentally, a few retailers have also started stocking the former ahead of its presumed release post-IFA 2025.
Detailed specifications remain unknown for now. Evidently, the new dock supports Thunderbolt 5 though, which should provide up to 120 Gbps bandwidth and multi-monitor support at 4K/240 Hz. By extension, it seems that the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 5 Smart Dock 7500 will replace docks like the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 Workstation Dock (curr. $297 on Amazon). Moreover, the following ports can be made out from the pictures that Blass has shared so far:
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 2x DisplayPort
- 1x HDMI
- 1x Gigabit Ethernet
- 2x Thunderbolt 5
- 1x Thunderbolt 5 (to laptop)
- 3x USB Type-A (10 Gbps)
- 2x USB Type-C (10 Gbps)
- 1x USB Type-C (power input)
- 2x Kensington lock slots
