Following Lenovo's launch of a laptop with a rollable display, a leak has revealed a Lenovo ThinkBook with a display that can be quickly rotated into portrait mode. Lenovo Project Pivo is expected to be officially unveiled at IFA in September.

Lenovo regularly unveils laptops with unusual and innovative designs, ranging from the Yoga Book 9 with two displays, the ThinkPad X1 Fold with a foldable OLED panel to the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable, whose OLED display can be easily rolled out and enlarged as needed. At IFA in September, Lenovo is set to unveil another form factor in the form of a concept notebook called "Project Pivo".

Reliable leaker Leaker Evan Blass has now published an initial image of Project Pivo. Apparently, the display can be easily detached from the laptop and rotated 90 degrees for use in portrait mode. Power and data are probably transferred through a series of contacts on the back of the display, while the display is presumably connected magnetically to the base of the notebook. A vertical display is useful, among other things, for reading long documents or writing texts.

Project Pivo is said to be just a concept for now. While Lenovo may showcase a prototype at IFA, there are currently no plans to actually bring such a notebook to market. Since the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable was first revealed as a concept before the notebook actually hit the market about a year later, it is conceivable that Project Pivo will be available for purchase at some point.
