If you are looking for a large desktop replacement with powerful components, very good maintenance options as well as modern features, you will stumble upon the Schenker Key 18 Pro. The mobile workstation combines Intel's Core Ultra 9 275HX with Nvidia's new Blackwell GPUs, even though they are the consumer versions. Our review unit was equipped with flagship RTX 5000 model, the RTX 5090 Laptop with 24 GB VRAM. It is also the fastest version with a TGP of 175 Watts. The overall performance is very good and stable, even though the processor could be a bit better with higher power limits. The fans get loud in the fastest performance profile, but you can also use the quiet mode, where the performance is still decent and you will hardly notice the fans at 34 dB(A).
There are plenty of laptops with these components, but where the Key 18 Pro really stands out is the number of features in combination with excellent maintenance options. In addition to two Thunderbolt 5 ports there are two Ethernet ports (2.5 Gbps) and there is a PCIe 5.0 slot for SSDs and the performance is stable under sustained workloads. While other devices often have a second SSD slot, the Key 18 Pro offers three additional PCIe 4.0 slots. If you utilize all four slots (PCIe 5.0 is currently only available with 4 TB), you get 28 TB SSD storage (even 32 TB with 4x PCIe 4.0). You will appreciate the storage when you take many videos in 4K or even 8K.
If you want to edit your videos on the go, you will not only benefit from the RTX 5090 Laptop with 24 GB VRAM, but also plenty of memory (up to 256 GB with four slots). All in all, the Key 18 Pro is a very specialized device, but it is also pretty unrivaled if you want this combination. Please see our comprehensive review of the new Key 18 Pro for further information on the device.
